Project description:

It is said that Europe is undergoing the so called “migration crisis” - more and more people come to Western European countries searching for a better future. There is a need on the one hand to focus on enhancing the potential of young people coming to Europe, foster their basic skills to support their integration to society and labour market, on the other hand it is also important to build an open-minded approach to new cultures through education of young Europeans as well as common initiatives not only at formal education level, but more appropriately through non-formal and informal education. The role of youth workers/trainers is of extreme importance in the process of shaping young people’s basic skills combined with intercultural education, supporting integration of migrants and also through appreciation of their talents. Their professional approach, knowledge of extraordinary methodologies and tools and high-quality work will contribute to the inclusion and employability of young people at risk of marginalization, in particular those with a migrant background.

The main aim of the project is the professionalisation and increased quality of work of youth workers who work with young people with migrant background. This will be achieved through providing them and youth organizations with a set of methods and tools supporting youth workers in their professional activities in developing and improving migrants’ basic soft skills, taking initiative and extracting their potential by using art as a driver for education and integration.
