Final international partners meeting in Porto

Portugal 6 - 8 April 2018

The Foundation for Social Inclusion in Malta (FOPSIM) is the Maltese partner in the NECME project. The project aims to stimulate among civil society, in synergy with institutions involved in integration process, a more active role in promoting active citizenship of migrants, starting from the analysis of inclusion difficulties and the role of human beings trafficking and its links with international organized crime.

Participants from 16 different countries have been implementing activities aimed to overcome xenophobic, intolerant and discriminating behaviours, by raising awareness on fundamental rights and difficulties faced by migrant citizens. The project creates synergies between civil society and public bodies and also promoting the role of volunteering. Through the involvement of different stakeholders and the adoption of different methodologies, participants are stimulated to act as single citizens and as organised civil society, to facilitate migrant inclusion in European society.

  • Analysis of different aspects of inclusion and of intercultural dimension of local citizenship;
  • Meeting with stakeholders dealing with intercultural inclusion policies and with countering human being trafficking;
