24th February 2017 Fortress Builders, Valletta, Malta

As part of the Working Roma project, FOPSIM and Migrant Women Association Malta organised an Intercultural dialogue seminar for Minorities in Malta. The main objective of the seminar was to discuss topics on Discrimination and to empower minorities for their socio-professional integration.

The seminars were led by FOPSIM and MWAM, while there were six other speakers coming from various backgrounds. Three of the speakers presented their success stories for professional integration empowering and guiding the participants for improvement and labour inclusion. The National Council for Women Malta was also present and they disclosed information about programmes and activities that they will be offering for minorities. Furthermore, a representative from the US Embassy in Malta gave her own remarks on our initiatives expressing their willingness to supporting FOPSIM in this regard and encourage the minorities to participate in training and activities to upgrade their skills.

The seminar came to an end with open discussions among the attendees and the speakers. The overall feedback was very good and participants felt more motivated and encouraged similar events to be organised more often. Different communities came together, interesting ideas were exchanged and further collaboration among them was built for future activities.
